🐾 Animal Care Assistant

Maynards Sanctuary & Pawton’s Doggy Daycare

Nr Lamberhurst, Kent

We are looking for a reliable, caring and hardworking Animal Care Assistant to join our small team at Maynards Sanctuary and Pawton’s Doggy Daycare.

This is a varied, hands-on role working with both our rescued farm animals and daycare dogs.

Currently this role is to cover the animal sanctuary on a Wednesday morning for a couple of hours and to provide holiday cover for the daycare and sanctuary as needed.

🐐 The role will include:

• Feeding and caring for our alpacas, llamas, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and other rescued animals

• Cleaning and maintaining animal areas, fields and enclosures

• Carrying out daily welfare checks and reporting any concerns

• General farm maintenance, fencing and outdoor jobs

• Caring for and supervising dogs attending Pawton's Doggy Daycare

• Providing exercise, enrichment and safe socialisation for the dogs

• Cleaning and maintaining the daycare areas

• Driving our Pawton's vehicles to collect and return dogs safely

• Safely loading and unloading dogs and providing a friendly service to customers

• Helping to ensure high standards of animal welfare, cleanliness and safety at all times

🐾 We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine passion for animals and their welfare

• Has experience with animals, particularly dogs and/or farm animals (although training can be provided)

• Is confident handling a variety of animals, this includes our larger animals, llamas and alpacas.

• Is reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently as well as part of a small team

• Is calm, sensible and safety-conscious

• Doesn't mind getting stuck in and working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Is physically fit enough for a hands-on role

• Is flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks

• Has a friendly and positive approach

A full UK driving licence is essential, and due to our vehicle insurance requirements, applicants must be aged 25 or over.
